The MacMusicGuy is active in a lot of musical areas. Check the experience page for a list of what he's done in the past.
Teaching: private lessons given in piano, keyboards, and music theory. Locations include Young America Music on Zebulon Road and I-475, and Macon State (for college students). His teaching and approach is individualized for each student, and can encompass classical, jazz, pop, rock, theory, reading, and improvisation. He can also teach you how to use the equipment you have - including that keyboard you got for Christmas. Check the portfolio page for samples of his playing.
Live performance: Tom is available for live performances, either on solo keys or as part of an ensemble. He currently regularly plays with tom&co at Vineville North Baptist (now known as Northway Church), the Joey Stuckey Band, the Mosely Dixon Project, the Bob Huellemeir orchestra, and is the on-call sub for the Grapevine.
Studio recording: Tom has worked on several albums in the middle Georgia area, including albums by Cathead Dooley, Skeebo Knight, and has also done some recording with Joey Stuckey and the Bob Heullemeir orchestra. He arranged, produced, and performed on tom&co's 2 albums (Brethren, and Seasons).
Sound: Sound design, keyboard programming, and audio editing are just some of the sound-related services Tom can provide. He has programmed keyboards for 8 musicals for Macon State, ranging from Lies & Legends: the Musical Stories of Harry Chapin, to Big River, Cabaret, Tommy, Once on this Island, West Side Story, and Assassins. He engineered, edited, and file prepped the podcast of the Sunday recordings for Vineville North Baptist sermon series from inception until March 2006, and edited & preps the graphics for the service CDs sold in the Source, the church bookstore.
Arranging & writing: Yes! Listen to Seasons, the 2003 album by tom&co for examples. Tom is an ASCAP writer. He also offers music transcription services through ShadowSound Studios in downtown Macon.
